Teton: Modern Style, Traditional Roots

Challenge

Teton Skincare, a natural brand with a farm-to-skin ethos, sought a modern redesign for their tallow balm, Day Cream, and Night Cream labels. The original design featured hand-drawn illustrations, but needed an update to align with the evolving brand.

The challenge was to modernize the aesthetic while preserving the brand’s natural, authentic image: a balance between heritage and contemporary appeal.

Solution

I modernized the design by simplifying the font choices and introducing bold line art, while keeping elements of the earthy, grassroots vibe intact.

Collateral Imagery for Digital & Print

To extend the rebrand, I crafted cohesive visuals for Shopify, Amazon, and marketing materials:

  • Icons & Color: Bold “Texas Rose” and black paired with “Texas Rose” and “Violet” create high-contrast banners and minimalist line art (sun, moon, botanicals) for quick recognition.

  • Real-World Use: Lifestyle shots show the products in action, applied to skin, outdoors, or paired with daily essentials. Emphasizing texture and farm-to-skin authenticity.

  • Benefits-Driven: Split-screen graphics and ingredient close-ups highlight key claims (“Deep Hydration,” “Manuka Honey”) with clean typography, optimized for readability.

Redesign & Brand Consistency

The new label features a minimalist half-cow face, which modernizes the original while keeping its symbolic connection to the brand’s roots. The left-justified layout provides a cleaner, more modern look. I preserved elements from the original design, like the grass and mountains, but updated them with a modern, stylized approach to maintain the connection to nature while elevating the design.

Day & Night Cream

The Day Cream features the brand's vibrant “Texas Rose” color, while the Night Cream uses a deep calming “Violet” hue. These distinct colors help differentiate the products, with shared elements linking them visually. Simple line art symbols, a sun for Day Cream and a moon for Night Cream, reflect the product’s use. Seals showcasing the oils used reinforce the brand’s natural ingredients and transparency.

Takeaways

The new labels strike a balance between modern design trends and Teton’s rustic identity, offering a fresh, cohesive brand image that communicates purity, natural ingredients, and modern luxury. The rebrand elevates the brand's shelf presence and strengthens Teton's identity as a high-quality, nature-inspired skincare brand.
